Arriving around 11:30AM on a sunny Saturday will be busy — move through Nakamise quickly and find quieter side streets around the temple. Goshuin available just inside the main gate on the right — one of the most famous in Japan. If you prefer a quieter visit, consider an early morning stop on Apr 1 (Wed) on the way to Kamakura instead.

Best option on a sunny day: walk 20 min south along Kaminarimon-dori — a lovely stroll through old Tokyo streetscape. Or take Tokyo Metro Ginza Line from Asakusa (G19) to Ueno (G16), 6 min, direction Shibuya.

Best flow: Park Exit → central blossom avenue → fountain plaza → Shinobazu Pond boardwalk → Bentendo. Afternoon light is excellent for photos.

Ueno park is illuminated at night during peak bloom — one of the best yozakura spots in Tokyo. Lanterns along the main avenue, atmospheric and less rushed than daytime. Return to the park from Akihabara or stay if you skipped it.
